Jesus Is Alive And Well!
"After His(Jesus) suffering, He showed Himself to His diciples and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God....After this He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. "Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." Acts 1:3,9-11
Around Easter time the world can't help but hear about or see images of Jesus on a cross. All to often the truth that Jesus came back to life on the third day, escapes them.
There is so much more about Jesus to tell. He appeared to his followers over a period of 40 days after He came back to life. Then Jesus ascended, went up to heaven to be with His Father so that He and His Father could send the Holy Spirit down at the appointed time to be with and empower all those that would become believers.
And as we speak, Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven(John 14:2) and at the appointed time, He will come for us and take us to be with Him! That is our hope and God's Word gives us glimpes of this over and over. Nothing in this world, no dire circumstance or anything can compare with with the glory that awaits us.
Father, thank You that Jesus is indeed alive and that someday He is coming back for me. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit that You've put in me, to be my helper, teacher, comforter and friend. Help me to grow in awareness of Your Holy Spirit so that He can reveal You and all that You are to me. In Jesus' name. Amen.
